We get pretty used to things, don't you think? The events all around us, the minor and the major, all lend themselves to causing us to desensitize. We have a complex of principles and things that stand in our mind and block the light, or order the input, in such a way that we can adaptively guide ourselves through the multiplicity and maintain a continuous sense of character. How do you deal with the question: Who are you really? How do you even interpret it? Are you everything that you think you are? Do you identify with every single thing you say and hear, taking in and putting out things as functions of who you are? Or are these all layers the world adds on top of you? Or, forget addition. Exponential accretion. Let's talk, anyways. Here: these songs are my first words to you, as I am now.
